Best Fit Wins: Anne Hathaway and her modern office style in “Devil Wears Prada 2”

This week, Best Fit Wins calls out Anne Hathaway. The actress returns with the iconic name “Andy Sachs” nearly 20 years after the first film The Devil Wears Prada (2006). Part 2 is currently being filmed in New York. Although it has not been released yet, behind-the-scenes moments have revealed a look at Andy Sachs’ more mature and mature fashion style, which is clearly different from the image she wore in part 1.
In the first part, Andy had an “amateur” look when she first entered the fashion world, from old cardigans to bright colors and large graphics, showing the process of inner change. Reappearing in part 2, her temperament has advanced to a new level: luxurious, modern but still maintaining the spirit of a trendy office. From the office scene to street fashion right on the streets of Manhattan, Anne or Andy put on minimalist but expensive outfits, showing maturity in aesthetic taste and professional perspective.
On the second day of filming in New York, Anne Hathaway appeared in a classic, powerful office outfit: a cool gray suit combined with a black V-neck shirt. This is a seemingly rigid outfit but she transformed it into a “high-fashion” look. The highlight lies in the smart way she coordinated accessories. Anne chose Bvlgari Serpenti glasses to create a feeling of both power and sexiness in an Italian style. The black vintage Coach Metropolitan bag has a classic feel, balancing luxury and practicality – an ideal item for a sophisticated fashion editor. Finally, the black cowboy boots from Golden Goose are a unique detail that helps the overall look not be “framed” in the traditional office formula but add personality and modernity.

In the first leaked images from the set, Anne Hathaway perfectly recreated the Andy Sachs look. This time, she wore a Jean Paul Gaultier Femme archive pinstripe vest. The choice of vintage pieces from the French fashion house’s archives alone is a statement of style, a nod to the past but with a modern twist. The tailored suit, paired with straight-leg trousers, gives the look a classic 2000s office look but with a more premium finish. She completes the look with a vintage black leather Coach Saddle Pouch, a bag small enough to carry her “editorial secrets”. The accessory that elevates the whole outfit is a £11,000 Jemma Wynne diamond necklace – a luxurious yet subtle touch that speaks to the character’s current status: Andy now dresses not just for looks, but for inner strength. The final touch is a pair of pointed-toe, block-heeled boots that connect Andy to the “city-girl-on-the-move” energy that the show has always conveyed. This is Andy Sachs 2025: no need to follow the trend, she is the trend.

Next, Anne Hathaway wore white jeans from Nili Lotan, which are highly appreciated by fashionistas. She combined it with a white Phoebe Philo shirt with a simple cut, with a long hem, creating a gentle flowing effect every time she moved. The overall look is a perfect monochrome silhouette, showing that the woman has understood the style: respecting every cut, every proportion. Prada Modellerie Spiked leather pumps in white are both trendy and a bit of personality. Accessories are Barton Perreira Amaya glasses and a black Coach Metropolitan vintage 1987 handbag from the Re(Loved) collection that is being hunted again. The overall look is not flashy but sophisticated, very suitable for the mature version of Andy, confident in a professional fashion working environment.

Another outfit mentioned is a striped shirt dress combined with a red vest that has a menswear feel but has been feminized through the design of a long-sleeved shirt pulled up, a slightly slit skirt, and layered details such as a pearl necklace, rings and gently loose hair. The reddish brown high-heeled boots revealed through the slit in the middle of the skirt are a bold highlight, reflecting the contrast between power and feminine charm. This outfit shows that Andy is no longer a young girl hanging around the show-floor, now she is ready to wear a bold vest combination like a real fashion editor.

Still Andy Sachs but a mature version, clearly understanding her role and personality in the fashion world. This time, she chose a brown suede jacket by Ralph Lauren, a classic item that is both classic and dusty, reminiscent of female characters in American academic films: intelligent, profound and with a strong personality. She combined it with rolled-up Levi’s jeans, an interesting contrast with the printed blue silk scarf by Sabina Savage wrapped lightly around her neck. The Zadig & Voltaire snakeskin boots add a wild, rebellious touch, acting as a subtle twist that keeps the look from slipping into a purely vintage rut. The Valentino Garavani studded fringe suede bag adds a soft, airy and trendy touch. The look is completed with jewelry from Marlo Laz – a New York-based handmade jewelry brand.

Finally, the colorful patchwork maxi dress combined with a bucket hat reflects the Summer mood: both sophisticated, slightly romantic, full of personal color, but still radiant on the streets of New York. This is a gentle transition from a rigid office image to emotional street fashion. The fun maxi dress is also proof that Andy today not only works hard but also knows how to enjoy his own fashion personality.
